Interdisciplinary Priorities Coordinator
Liana Coste-Gatón is the interdisciplinary priorities coordinator for the Office of Interdisciplinary Studies.
Before joining Duke University, Liana worked as a political and economic specialist at the Embassy of the United States of America in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In this role, she analyzed and reported to the U.S. Department of State on domestic economy and political issues and provided input on several annual reports such as the Human Rights Report, Trafficking in Persons and Religious Freedom. She also identified and interacted with senior and working-level contacts in the Dominican presidency, government ministries, Congress, judiciary, civil society organizations and other missions.
Liana obtained a bachelor’s in law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and a master’s in international legal practice from the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economia (ISDE) in Madrid, Spain.
