Internal Search Announced for Social Science Research Institute Director
As authorized by Provost Alec Gallimore, Senior Vice Provost for Interdisciplinary Programs and Initiatives Ed Balleisen has appointed a committee to lead the internal search for Duke University’s next director of the Social Science Research Institute.
The search committee is chaired by Timothy Johnson, professor of the practice of energy and the environment and senior associate dean for academics in the Nicholas School of the Environment. Other members of the committee are:
- Sarah Bermeo, Associate Professor of Public Policy and Political Science
- Rachel Brewster, Jeffrey and Bettysue Hughes Distinguished Professor, Duke Law School
- Jonathon Cummings, Professor of Business Administration, Fuqua School of Business
- Tobias Egner, Professor and Chair of Psychology and Neuroscience
- Tamika Nunley, William & Sue Gross Professor of History
- David Toole, Professor of the Practice of Theology, Ethics, and Global Health; Director of the Kenan Institute for Ethics
- Gavin Yamey, Hymowitz Family Professor of the Practice in Global Health
The committee is eager to receive input that will help it build a pool of talented candidates from Duke’s existing regular-rank faculty.
