Register for Free Short Courses in the Duke Graduate Academy

The Duke Graduate Academy offers free online short courses that help emerging scholars prepare for high-level research, innovative teaching, leadership and/or public engagement.

Duke graduate and professional students can build skills, tools and knowledge to augment their regular coursework and research. Some courses are also open to postdocs with instructor consent.

Summer 2026 Duke Graduate Academy Courses

Summer Term 1 (May 13 – June 22)

  • Getting (and Giving) Transformational Mentoring
  • Science Communication
  • Business and Organizational Fundamentals for Entrepreneurial Action
  • Community-Engaged and Community-Partnered Research
  • Narrative Design

Summer Term 2 (June 29 – August 7)

  • Qualitative and Mixed Methods Research
  • AI for Qualitative Data Analysis
  • Introduction to Society-Centered AI

    Submit Your Work for the Oliver W. Koonz Human Rights Prize

    Deadline: April 10, 2026. The prize honors the best essay/paper or alternative project prepared by an undergraduate for the academic year. The Duke Human Rights Center at the FHI awards one $500 prize to the winner or winners in each category.
